Difference Between Distilling And Fermentation By Alcohol For Herbs at 2016-04-04 05:43:30

Alcohols have long been used for our recreational purposes. They are always with us during our hard times and happy times. We cannot deny their existence in our lives. They are formed by two processes: distillation and fermentation. Distilling alcohol includes spirit and liquors. But fermented alcohol includes beers, wine. Let us elaborate the difference between distillation and fermentation:
Fermentation includes sugar substances like saccharine being converted to sugar by biological processes. The process includes breaking down of glucose molecules by enzymes and necessary factors to derive energy and by products. The by-products include carbon dioxide into the air and ethanol. Ethanol is the basic form of alcohol which is further processed to get the actual alcohol. Fermentation takes place in an airtight container with yeast in it. The sugar is then reacted with the yeast to break down to carbon dioxide and ethanol. Fermentation is also used in extracting bread from dough by adding yeast to it.
Distillation is an altogether different process. It includes a heating process to separate the liquids. The process includes the basic process of fermentation for breaking down on sugar. The germinated grain is used for fermentation process. Then they are grounded to make a paste. The following step needs yeast to ferment the substance and get the byproduct. Then the distiller heats the produced substance to get the different products. The condensed vapor we get contains the alcohol. It is highly concentrated in terms of alcohol. After several processes of distillation, we get the actual alcohol, which can be consumed. Essential oil extraction is used in perfumery. This process requires vodka to get the perfume.
